Of Love

Hi there. Sorry blog, it has been quite a long time since I last post an original posting. What I posted these few days weren't originally mine. Credits should be given to my Hi5 associate, Ellya. her writings, whether original or not, fits my opinion most of the times. So, there goes copy-paste.

A few nights ago, someone asked me about being in love before marriage, or should I say having a relationship with a partner of the opposite sex before marriage? What's my opinion?

I'm not currently involved in such thing, not because I am unable to do so, but I opt not to, as I am not really sure if I am ready for another run. Anyway, opinion-wise I have no objection as long it's not considered as merely for fun. Such intimate relationship, for me, should be regarded as a way to know one's future life partner. Short term relationships should be avoided at all costs.

There're some people who think that it's taboo, or haram in Islam. What are we to deny our own basic instinct? What are we to deny our own natural need? Love is a need for us. That's my opinion. The process of channeling love is what should be taken care of.

I am writing about the matter from my own point of view, as a Muslim and as a human. I would li ke to know others' opinion about the same matter.
